Romanian households use 2.7% more electricity in first nine months
The final electricity consumption in the first nine months rose by 4.3 percent in Romania, compared to the same period in 2010, while the country’s electricity exports also went up by 38.8 percent, according to the Romanian National Statistics Institute (INS).
The public lighting consumption decreased by 12.3 percent in this period, while household consumption went up by 2.7 percent. The electricity resources also reported a growth of 5.2 percent in the first none months of 2011 compared to the same period last year, mainly due to the increased production, which went up by 5.4 percent.
The production of wind power between January to September this year also went up to 573.5 million KWh. Read the entire INS report here (in Romanian).
