Romanian industrial producer prices up 11% in March
The total industrial production prices, both domestic and foreign, recorded an increase of 11 percent in March this year over the corresponding month of 2010 in Romania. The prices were also up 1.1 percent from February this year, due to the high prices in the manufacturing industry and of the water distribution and sanitation.
Prices for the domestic industrial production rose by 1 percent, while those for the external market by 1.2 percent compared to February this year, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
By sectors of activity, price increases were recorded in manufacturing ( up 1.4 percent), and water distribution, sanitation, waste management and remediation activities (1 percent). Price decreases were recorded in mining industry (down 1.4 percent) and the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (down 0.3 percent).
In the big industrial groups, price increases were recorded in the energy industry (plus 2.3 percent), household goods industry (plus 1 percent), and intermediate goods industry (plus 0.5 percent).
However, prices fell in the durable goods industry (minus 0.3 percent) and in the capital goods industry (minus 0.1 percent).
