Romanian Infopress Group buys Hungarian printing house Révai

Infopress Group Romania, a company owned by private equity firm GED Capital, has acquired Hungarian company Révai Printing House Ltd. from the British Polestar Group. Infopress Group plans to modernize the Hungarian printing house, it has announced. With this acquisitions GED has invested more than EUR 15 million in both companies.

The joint group's consolidated turnover will reach EUR 80 million and will have around 500 employees becoming the largest printing company in Central-Eastern Europe. Révai’s annual turnover in 2010 exceeded EUR 42 million. The 150-year old company currently employs 250 people at its production lines located in Budapest and Fót.

Infopress Group was founded in 1990 as the printer of the local newspaper in Odorheiu Secuiesc. GED took it over in 2010, in a EUR 12 million deal, according to previous data.

GED is an independent private equity group operating in the Iberian Peninsula and Southeast Europe. It managed over EUR 350 million in funds through four different private equity vehicles and operates in two different private equity sectors: private equity and private equity real estate.

GED's most recent deal involved a stake increase in Continental Hotels in Romania. The fund has increased its stake in Romanian hotel chain Continental Hotels by buying a 30 percent share package from Czech fund PPF Partners, in the biggest deal GED has made in the Eastern Europe since 1996.

GED also owns Cellulem Block, Happy Tour, Paravion.ro and Prestige Tours in Romania.
