Romanian injured in Tel Aviv attack
One person was killed and some nine others were injured on Tuesday by a Palestinian armed with a knife. The attack took place in Jaffa port area in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, March 8. The Israeli Police killed the attacker.
A Romanian citizen is among the wounded, according to a statement of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is currently admitted in a hospital in Tel Aviv and his condition is stable.
“The Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv is in permanent contact with the hospital to provide consular assistance is needed,” reads the Ministry’s statement.
The attack took place while US Vice President Joe Biden was in a meeting just a few kilometers away, reports Reuters. Romania's President Klaus Iohannis was also on an official visit in Israel when the incident took place.
