Romanian insurer to pay EUR 0.6 mln after Apuseni plane crash
Insurer Omniasig has paid some EUR 287,000 to the heirs of late pilot Adrian Iovan, who died in a plane crash in the Apuseni mountains in January this year, according to Mediafax newswire.
The insurer will pay a similar amount to the family of the second victim, medical student Aura Ion. The insurance contract with Omniasig covered the death or permanent invalidity of each crew member, and each passenger on the plane.
The contract covered all 12 planes and helicopters from the Superior School of Civil Aviation, which owned the plane that crashed while carrying a medical team on its way to a transplant.
