Romanian law firm Musat & Asociatii and Hogan Lovells win new contract with Romanian state

Romanian law firm Muşat & Asociaţii recently won yet another contract with the Romanian state. The firm will offer legal assistance in mediating the sale of a 10 percent stake in state-owned Nuclearelectrica via the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Muşat & Asociaţii will advise, together with Hogan Lovells, the consortium of SSIF Swisscapital and BT Securities, which will run the listing procedures. The stock exchange listing is set to take place in the first quarter of 2013.

“Our team of 10 lawyers will offer legal assistance throughout the entire listing process, including writing the due diligence report and the issuance prospect, structuring the deal, as well as offering assistance during the entire primary shares offer,” said Miruna Suciu (in picture), partner with Musat& Asociatii and the coordinator of the project team.

The law firm is currently working in the listing of 15 percent in Transgaz, scheduled for November, as well as on the public offer launch for 20 percent in Tarom and 10 percent in Hidroelectica. Musat& Asociatii also offered legal assistance for the secondary public offering for Transelectrica at the end of March. The law firm has over 100 lawyers and counselors and 16 partners.

Hogan Lovells previously advised Ford Romania  in relation to its EUR 1.35 billion CO2 reduction project financing. The Lovells team was then led by global Capital Markets Practice Area Partner, Sharon Lewis with senior associate Reza Mulligan in Paris.  The firm, which does not have an office in Romania, is currently also working with Bulboaca & Asociatii law firm on the Romgaz listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
