Romanian Lottery gives prizes of EUR 35 mln in first quarter of 2012
The Romanian Lottery awarded a total of 2 million prizes in the first quarter of 2012, with a total value of EUR 35.3 million. The biggest total payouts were in the Videolottery game, where EUR 26.1 million was paid in winnings.
Next was the Loto 6/49 game, where some 215,000 prizes totaling EUR 5.4 million were awarded, followed by the Pariloto game - EUR 1.7 million. The Romanian Lottery organizes games on Thursdays and Sundays. A simple ticket for the Loto 6/49 game costs RON 4.8.
It recently gave a EUR 2.7 million award to a Romanian from Arges county, the second category I prize awarded this year.
The Romanian Lottery National Company posted a profit of RON 121 million (some EUR 28.8 million) in 2010, down 20 percent over the previous year, and a turnover of RON 1.1 billion (some EUR 260 million).
