Romanian MedLife makes EUR 23.8 mln in six months, more than half from fee-for-service
Private healthcare operator MedLife posted a turnover of EUR 23.8 million in the first half of the year, up 37 percent on the same period of 2010. The growth was mainly due to acquisitions on the retail segment and to greenfield projects, the company has announced.
MedLife catered to 450,000 patients in the first half of the year. The fee-for-service segment brought 66 percent of the company's revenues. MedLife grew its corporate clients portfolio by 500 new clients, reaching 20,000 subscribers.
The weight of its revenues come from the private market, while revenues from the state – the National Health Insurance House stay under 8 percent of its turnover and will diminish even more, according to Mihail Marcu, president of MedLife (in picture).
MedLife is owned by the Marcu family, with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) being a minority shareholder, with 12.7 percent of the shares and SGAM Eastern Europe investment fund, with 36.25 percent of the shares.
