Romanian Minister: EC has given consent that gas price for thermal power plants will not go up

27 November 2014

The Government has received the written consent from the European Commission on the price of gas for thermal power plants and will adopt an emergency ordinance on this issue next week, so that gas prices would not go up, the Minister Delegate for Energy Razvan Nicolescu said, reports local Mediafax.

"It is a period with all kinds of statements that are perhaps more political and less serious," said Prime Minister Victor Ponta.

“There is no increase in the gas price for population, nor in the gas price for thermal power plants. We have an official communication from the European Commission that thermal power plants are given priority in purchasing gas from domestic production," he added.
