Romanian Minister: Greenhouse gas emissions more than halved
Romania reduced to less than half its greenhouse gas emissions after 1989, said Environment Minister Attila Korodi at the UN Summit on Climate Change, in New York.
“Romania was from the beginning in the first line of the fight against climate change. Our country was the first state that in 2001 has ratified the Kyoto Protocol, pledging to reduce by 8% the emissions of greenhouse gas, compared to its year of reference, 1989,” said the minister, cited by local Agerpres.
