Romanian minister: Rapid implementation of 5G technology, a necessity
Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos said on Thursday that there is a major gap between the private and the public sector on the use of the technology of information.
Vital sectors such as education, healthcare, social assistance, and agriculture develop too slowly, and can’t keep up the pace with other countries. He also mentioned bureaucracy, which is deeply rooted in the administration.
Communication Minister Delia Popescu said that the rapid implementation of the 5G technology and the transition to a GigaBit society represent a necessity, not an option. Romania needs to be ambitious to recover the digital gap compared to other countries.
“It is hugely important that Romanians and companies in Romania have access to data infrastructure and services based on cloud computing,” she added.
