Romanian Minister to propose flat gas price for households until 2016
Razvan Nicolescu, the Minister Delegate for Energy, wants the price of domestic gas for households to stay flat until July 1, 2016, and will make a proposal in this sense to EU authorities, reports local Capital.
He will also propose to extend the gas market liberalization period until July 1, 2021, from December 31, 2018 as provided in the calendar currently in force.
According to the liberalization calendar assumed by Romania in 2012 to the IMF and the European Commission, the price of gas for population should increase by 3% from October 1, 2014. The prices for households would be fully liberalized on December 31, 2018.
