Romanian OMV Petrom to demolish refinery assets
Oil & gas company OMV Petrom will demolish some of the plants and buildings on the Arpechim Ploiesti refinery platform, to build fuel and petroleum product deposits.
OMV Petrom hasn’t found any buyer for the refinery, so it decided to turn it into a deposit, reports local Mediafax.
It has submitted a demand about this to the authorities, said Mariana Gheorghe, general manager of OMV Petrom.
In 2013, she said that the company would demolish the refinery if it didn’t find any buyer.
The refinery, closed in 2011, could process some 3.5 million tonnes of oil annually. OMV Petrom is part of the Austrian group OMV.
