Romania’s largest online retailer eMag plans to hire 500 people to entry-level and management positions. The company would then reach 1,700 employees.

At the end of March, eMag will add fashion items to its offer, after entering the home & deco segment last year and announcing the partnership with retailer Mega Image, said Violeta Luca, eMag executive director, cited by local Wall-street.ro.

The company has been preparing to enter the fashion section for nine months. By comparison, the preparation for the supermarket project lasted one year, whereas developing other categories took about three months.

The company has ten employees in the commercial & marketing area only for the fashion segment.
