Romanian online retailer ups sales by a quarter
Online retailer Cel.ro recorded a turnover of over EUR 40 million last year, up by 25% compared to 2014.
Phones and IT equipment accounted for 67% of the total sales whereas appliances and TVs had a share of 19%, reports local Wall-street.ro.
In 2011, the company had a turnover of EUR 11.2 million. The company grew 3.5 times between 2011 and 2015, said Tiberiu Pop, the owner of Cel.ro. The retailer expects sales of EUR 60 million for 2016.
The company has also introduced a marketplace system, which allows other companies to sell their products through the Cel.ro platform.
The retailer’s biggest local competitor is eMAG.
