Romanian Parliament OKs new Ministry of European Affairs
Romania's new Ministry of European Affairs has recently received the green light from the Romanian Parliament, with 254 votes for. The new Ministry will be led by the Presidential Adviser and former European Commissioner Leonard Orban (in picture), who was endorsed on Monday by the Romanian Parliament’s committees for administration and European affairs with a majority of votes.
The new Minister of European Affairs thanked those who voted in favor of setting up the European Affairs Ministry, claiming that it will always try to defend, by its actions, the national interest. “By the laws to be approved shortly, we try to define clearly the attributions, and the role of the ministry and the minister”, said Leonard Orban.
