Romanian Petrom opens EUR 250 million oil field externalization contract to bids

Romanian oil and gas company Petrom has put out for tender exploitation rights in 13 oil fields in Timis region West of Romania, in a 15-year contract valued at EUR 250 million. OMV Petrom will continue its externalizations program for certain operations.

OMV Petrom last year started a contract with Texas-based company PetroSantander for nine oil fields in the Arad area, also in western Romania. A similar contract was signed with Petrofac last year for nine oil fields in Gorj county. For both contracts, Petrom employees have been temporarily transferred to the companies operating the fields.
