Romanian pharma producer Antibiotice Iasi sells more drugs abroad
Local pharmaceutical producer Antibiotice Iasi recorded sales of EUR 32.3 million in the first six months of the year, up 9% compared to the same period last year. The company’s net profit reached EUR 3.7 million, up 8%.
During this period, the producer sold pharmaceuticals of EUR 12.2 million abroad, up 18% year-on-year. The main increase was recorded on the US market, where the deliveries doubled compared to the same period in 2015. Antibiotice exported to the US injectable antibiotics within the penicillin range.
The producer ranked 12th among the 300 pharma companies active in Romania in the first half of the year, according to market research company Cegedim.
Antibiotice is a state-controlled company, as the Ministry of Health owns 53% of its shares. The company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and has a market capitalization of EUR 81 million.
