Romanian pianist Mihaela Ursuleasa, 33, was found dead in her apartment in Vienna, according to her agent, quoted by artsjournal.com. The probable cause of death is cerebral haemorrhaging, according to Austrian media.

The 33-year old, mother of one, had studied for eight years at the Vienna Conservatory and graduated it Magna cum Laudae. She had received a scholarship to Vienna at 13, after winning the second place at an international piano competition.

So far, the cause of death has not been made public. Ursuleasa had canceled two concerts in Bucharest due to health issues.

She was considered a child prodigy, having started to play the piano at 5. Ursuleasa has been acclaimed internationally for her talent. Mihaela Ursuleasa won the highly acclaimed Clara Haskil Competition in 1995, and gave recitals in the world's most celebrated concert halls, such as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, the Cologne Philharmonic , Konzerthaus Vienna, Tonhalle Zürich and in the renowned Carnegie Hall in New York.

In 2010, her debut solo album, “Piano & Forte” (-edel- CLASSICS), received the ECHO Klassik award in the “Solo Recording of the Year” category (19th century, piano). Her second solo album "Romanian Rhapsody" was released march 2011.
