Romanian platform Trilulilu to go international via facelift from YouTube-like site to social aggregator
Romanian YouTube-like online platform Trilulilu, founded in 2007, plans to go international starting next year, after making changes to its structure and concept. The platform will be launched in a new design and structure in the fall of 2013, and also in an international version by the end of the year. The platform will turn from a local YouTube into an international aggregator.
The new Trilulilu was already launched in a private beta version, allowing users to test the new platform before it goes into wide beta after the summer. The new Trilulilu brings together all the social platforms, and generates a single posts feed from all of them, as well as keeps the music and video content generated by users. Several hundreds of thousands of euros have been invested in the new platform so far.
“There is too much content all over the Internet, and there are too many sources, you can't even see it all,” said founder Sergiu Biris, who explains the decision to bring together all social networks in the new Trilulilu. The final version of the site should be launched early in 2014.
in Romania, the website has 1.3 million registered users and 2.2 million unique visitors a month, and is fueled by a team of 25 people. The private beta version is currently available at www.noul.trilulilu.ro.
Trilulilu was founded in 2007 by a group of young entrepreneurs living in Cluj, led by Sergiu Biris, currently acting as company CEO. The largest Triluliu Music shareholder is businessman Alexis Bonte. The company’s shareholder list now includes Vodafone Romania, Universal Music and Trilulilu.
