Romanian PM has new knee surgery in Turkey before three-week holiday
Romania’s Prime Minister Victor Ponta will go to Turkey on Wednesday, July 29, to have a second knee surgery, after he had his knee repaired in an Istanbul hospital at the beginning of June. He will then take a three-week holiday, according to official sources quoted by Mediafax.
Ponta has delegated Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea to replace him until August 17. Oprea also replaced Ponta for almost four weeks in June, when the PM had his first knee surgery in Turkey.
The Romanian Government is in vacation during this period, but Oprea can call for Government meetings if necessary.
