Prime Minister Victor Ponta has recently launched his presidential candidacy platform, which includes a 3% annual growth target, keeping the flat tax rate for companies and joining the eurozone in the next five years.
Ponta’s platform is called the Great Union of Romanians and includes 36 pages. One of the chapters is named the Highlights of a Strong Romania, which would include the 3% yearly economic growth, to turn Romania into the top Eastern European economy.
Then the PM aims for increasing competitiveness by entering the Top15 in Europe and Top 40 in the world, as well as increasing attractiveness for investments. Under his vision, Romania should become the Eastern European industrial center, as well as Europe’s granary and a technology hub.
The country should not only join the Eurozone in the next five years, but also become energy independent during this period, according to the presidential candidate's plans.
