Romanian police and prosecutors of the organized crime unit made one of the largest drug busts, last weekend in Bucharest. They found 10 kilograms of heroin on a Turkish citizen and two Romanians, who wanted to distribute it to local drug dealers. The three were taken in for questioning.

The value of the seized heroin is about EUR 250,000, but before selling it to consumers, the dealers would have mixed it with glucose, which would have increased the quantity and the final price to EUR 350,000, according to judicial sources, quoted by Mediafax newswire.

This record capture will lead to a deficit of heroin on the local market which could lead to a 40% surge in prices, according to the same sources. The seized heroin came from Turkey.
