Romanian Post prepares app for online payment of fines and taxes

The Romanian Post intends to develop an application that should ease online payments of fines, taxes and other contributions on its own website. The application should facilitate payments for both locals and Romanians abroad.

The Post will collaborate with the tax authority ANAF for regulating access to treasury’s accounts, local Profit.ro reported. The Romanian Post also cooperates with the Finance Ministry in distributing the Tezaur state bonds for the population.

The Post is Romania’s biggest postal services operator, with about 5,600 units nationwide and over 24,000 employees. It is controlled by the Communication Ministry which holds a 93.52% stake. The minority shareholder is investment fund Fondul Proprietatea.
