Romanian President asks for France’s support of Schengen accession
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday, February 10, asked the French President Francois Hollande to help Romania in joining the Schengen area.
He also asked him to stand by Romania’s side in its efforts to fight any statements that boil down solid relationships to cliches.
Iohannis, currently on an official Visit to France, held a conference in Paris together with Hollande.
Iohannis addressed the situation in Ukraine and said that Romania supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Republic of Moldova remains a priority for Romania and joining the European Union is the primary objective, Iohannis added.
