Romanian President: Citizens want social justice
Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis recently said that the anticorruption fight in Romania does not take place so that the country receives a positive Cooperation and Verification Mechanism report from the European Commission.
It is rather done for the citizens that want social justice. He said that the anti-corruption fight needs to be carried out with determination, which is what actually currently happens.
“Romania has taken determined steps in a very good direction. Citizens want criminal justice, but even more, they wait for social justice, and this has a strong component in the anti-corruption fight," Iohannis said, cited by local Mediafax.
