Romanian president handles F-16 plane in flight simulator during Turkish visit
Romanian president Traian Basescu piloted an F-16 which was under enemy fire in a flight simulator during his official visit to Turkey.
Basescu tested the flight simulator used for pilots and was coached by Turkish military officials on how to use the commands of the simulator. “In a real airplane, I'd be dead by now,” the Romanian president said laughing.
He also visited a hangar hosting several F-16 planes used to train Turkish pilots.
President Basescu was on an official visit to Turkey on February 5 and 6, where he met Turkish president Abdullah Gül, and other local officials.
