Completing Romania’s internal energy market would mean developing the energy infrastructure and would bring affordable prices for customers, economic growth, and job creation, said Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

He presented these objectives at the European Council, which confirmed the Energy Union objective, based on a proposal which the European Commission made in February.

An essential part of this project is the freedom of each member state to choose its national energy mix, Iohannis further said. The Energy Union should offer real protection for vulnerable consumers.
