Romanian President says country’s economy still “fragile”
Romania has a better position than many other countries, but it’s still fragile, said the Romanian President Traian Basescu, during a show at the public radio station.
Last year and this year, Romania had the highest percentage of GDP allotted to investments in the European Union. The average unemployment is 9.4 percent in the EU, while in Romania the unemployment rate reached 7 percent in the first quarter, he added.
“The greatest risk in Romania is given by populism and the political instability”, said the Romanian President.
Traian Basescu thinks that the hospitals and the health insurance system in Romania have to be privatized. In autumn, the Romanian Government is expected to submit to Parliament the new Health law, that will allow hospitals to be more than state units, according to the President.
