Romanian President signs bill removing babies from utilities’ payment
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis promulgated yesterday a law that allows parents not to pay utilities for children under three.
The bill refers to common utilities calculated by the house owners’ associations mainly for people living in apartment buildings. The law was adopted in the Parliament on March 21.
Common costs such as those related to waste management, cleaning the building, and lighting in common areas are shared by the apartment owners or tenants based on the number of people living in each apartment. The more members in a family, the higher the utilities’ bill. The law will thus reduce the bill for families with very young children.
