Romanian President talks to parliamentary parties about elections, party funding
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and parliamentary parties held consultations on several topics on Wednesday, January 28. They’ve discussed the vote in diaspora, the local and parliamentary elections and financing political parties and electoral campaigns.
“I’ve proposed a concrete timetable so that, by the end of the first parliamentary session, we'll have a legal solution to ensure voting of Romanians from diaspora, the legislation on local and parliamentary elections, the parties’ law and the one on financing political parties and electoral campaigns,” said Iohannis, cited by local Mediafax.
Another important topic on the agenda was speeding up and simplifying procedures to approve requests for arrest or search of MPs.
The consultations ended with several shared conclusions, which shows that “we are on the right track,” the President added.
