Romanian Prime Minister announces 3.2% economic growth for first quarter
Preliminary data points to an economic increase of 3.2 percent for the first quarter of the year, said Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta during a TV show on Monday.
Romania’s economic growth stood at 3.5 percent last year, mainly supported by industry and agriculture, which went up by 8.1 and 23.4 percent, respectively.
The country’s budget deficit was of EUR 200 million in the first quarter of the year, or some 0.14 percent of the GDP, down from 0.46 percent end of February, and from 0.67 percent of the GDP in the similar period of 2013.
