Romanian Prime Minister’s wife opens pastry shop near the Athenaeum

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta’s wife Daciana Sarbu recently opened a pastry shop in a central area of Bucharest, near the Athenaeum.

The shop is called Mara Mura and is located on Benjamin Franklin Street, at number 5. It sells cupcakes, macarons, cookies, cake pops, truffles, as well as birthday cakes. It also sets up candy bars for private or corporate events.

The company that owns the store, D&C Sweets, is run by Alexandra Cristina Voicu, Daciana Sarbu’s business partner. They each hold 50% of the company, according to local tabloid Click!.

Daciana Sarbu is also a politician and a member of the European Parliament.
