Romanian Princess Irina pleads guilty in Oregon cockfighting case
Princess Irina, the third daughter of King Michael of Romania, pleaded guilty to operating a cockfighting business at her ranch in Oregon.
Irina Walker and her husband John accepted a plea deal in which the government dismissed charges of animal fighting and conspiracy to violate the animal welfare act, reports Fox News.
Sentencing in this case has been scheduled for October 22. The government plans to seek a sentence of probation and the forfeiture of USD 200,000.
Princess Irina and her husband were arrested last year in Oregon. The two suspects allegedly organized at least 10 cockfights. Prosecutors said the Walkers charged spectators USD 20 to enter and the crowds generally exceeded 100 people, according to Fox News.
