Romanian Princess Margareta decorates several public figures, including folk singers and actresses

Several public figures, including well-known Romanian folk singers and actresses, have been decorated by Princess Margareta of Romania during a ceremony organized at the Peles Castle in Sinaia mountain resort. The event marked the 93rd anniversary of Romania’s King Michael I.

Some of the personalities decorated by Princess Margareta, on behalf of King Michael, were Romanian folk singers Sofia Vicoveanca and Maria Ciobanu and actresses Draga Olteanu-Matei and Tamara Buciuceanu, reports local Agerpres.

British writer and journalist Jessica Douglas-Home, the president of the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation, was also decorated with Romania’s Crown Order, for her efforts in preserving the Romanian cultural values and heritage.

The ceremony was followed by a reception and a dinner.

Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation also organizes a royal concert at the Romanian Athenaeum, on October 25, to celebrate King Michael’s anniversary.
