Romania IT&C producer and retailer Evolio has entered the German market by opening an online shop, where it sells its low cost tablets, smartphones and GPS systems. The new shop targets Germans and Austrians and hopes to make EUR 200,000 in sales in the first year of activity.

The decision to expand to Germany was triggered by the high interest from German consumers, as the German visitors made 15 percent of the total visitors on Evolio's Romanian website, according to Liviu Nistoran, president of Evolio.

On the German website Evolio.de, an Android tablet sells for as low as EUR 55, and a dual sim smartphone, for EUR 155.

The company which runs the brand Evolio is called Televoice Grup and was created in 2002. The company sells its own tablets, ebook readers, smartphones and GPS systems.
