Romanian programmer Robert Gereb, owner of Software Miracles, has recently developed Feedvance.com, a local alternative to the Google Reader platform, which was closed on July 1.

“When we heard that the famous Google Reader is to be closed on July 1, we wanted to develop a better alternative, that we can also use,” said Robert Gereb, quoted by local business newspaper Ziarul Financiar. The app will cost USD 5, but there will also be a free version which will include advertising.

Robert Gereb worked for four months to develop the Feed­vance software and if the number of users will go over 20,000 he will think of a solution to attract investors.

Google Reader was a content application and platform provided by Google, launched on October 7, 2005. However, in March this year, Google announced that Google Reader would be closed on July 1, 2013, due to declining use.
