Romanian prosecutors indicted Ovidiu Miculescu, the president and general director of the Romanian Public Radio Company (SRR) on charges of abuse of office and conflict of interest.

Other five current or former members of the public radio’s board of directors were also prosecuted. One of them is famous Romanian folk singer Alexandru Ducu Bertzi. They are all accused of abuse of office and conflict of interest.

Five other people were indicted last week. They were former members of the board of directors as well as two current board members.

According to the prosecutors, the defendants approved the signing of several service contracts paid by the public radio, which brought them illegal benefits of about RON 400,000 (EUR 88,500).

Prosecutors carried out several searches at the headquarters of the public radio last week.
