An extreme sports aficionado from Cluj-Napoca in central Romania pulled an incredible wing-walking stunt. He flew on the wings of an airplane at more than 4,500 meters in the air while the plane was going at 270 km per hour. He even took a selfie which he sent to his wife.

Sveatoslav Vizitiu, 29, has been dreaming of this since he first watched this stunt in an old movie. He saw his dream come true after he won a competition organised by telecom group Vodafone called “Pitch your First”.

“In the first 10 seconds I completely blocked. It was very hard to take a selfie, because of the wind, but I managed to do it and immediately sent the photo to my wife,” he said.

Vodafone organised the “Pitch your First” competition in ten countries. The initiative aimed to encourage people to do extraordinary things for the first time in their lives, using mobile technology. Romania was among the ten countries, along Italy, Egypt, Hungary, Great Britain, Spain, South Africa, Qatar, Netherlands and Germany.

Sveatoslav Vizitiu, this year’s winner in Romania, is 29 and was born in Russia. He has been living in Romania for over ten years. He first studied computer science in Cluj-Napoca Technical University and took a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering.

A video of his stunt can be watched here.
