Romanian RCS & RDS attracts most customers from other networks

Local telecom operators transferred over 440,700 phone numbers from each other as the clients who held those numbers switched to other networks in the first six months of the year.

In total, there have been over three million phone number transfers since 2008, according to Romania’s communication authority ANCOM.

Romanian telecom operator RCS&RDS has managed to attract the highest number of clients from other networks, with almost 760,000 ported numbers during this period. It was followed by Vodafone, with 635,000, and Orange, with over 585,000. Telekom came next with over 460,000 transferred numbers.

Most mobile phone users who wanted to transfer their numbers in the first half of the year were from Bucharest, namely over 185,500.
