Romanian retailer Domo Retail to close 17 stores while opening 7 others this year

Romanian IT&C and equipments retailer Domo Retail has decided to close 17 unprofitable stores in Romania this year, with a total of 10,000 sqm. However, the retailer plans to open seven other stores by the end of this year, with investments of  about EUR 2.5 million. This year, Domo has already opened six units in Focsani, Buzau, Bucharest, Ramnicu Valcea, and Sfantu Gheorghe. The last one was inaugurated in the city of Ploiesti, in Winmarkt Grand Center shopping center.

The following stores will be opened in Alba Iulia, Sibiu, Oradea, Constanta, Bucharest, Craiova, and Botosani. The opening of the Domo store in Cotroceni Park located in the capital city, will mean the relocation of the old store with an area of ​​850 sqm into a new location of 3,000 sqm.

Domo, owned by the investment fund Trans Balkan Investments and Lorand Szarvadi, is the second largest retailer on this market, with a turnover of EUR 180 million last year, up from EUR 170 million in 2009. The retailer has a network of 126 stores in Romania.
