Romanian Romtelecom launches video-on-demand service HBO Go for its Dolce subscribers
Romanian telecom company Romtelecom has introduced the video-on-demand HBO Go service today ( April 2 ) on its satellite and IPTV platforms. As a result, all Dolce Romtelecom and Dolce Interactiv customers who subscribe to the 'Maxpak' package will have access to the new HBO Go service.
HBO Go allows Romtelecom customers to watch HBO productions, and HBO original premiers, before they are launched on the normal TV channel. Through the new service, Dolce Romtelecom and Dolce Interactiv customers have access to over 600 hours of content, such as movies, original series, documentaries and concerts. The offer will be renewed every week, according to Romtelecom.
HBO Go can be tested for free by the new and existing customers subscribing to the Maxpak package for a period of two months. Thereafter, a monthly fee of EUR 1, without VAT, in the addition to the price for MaxPak will apply. Romtelecom had around 4.7 million customers in 2011.
Romtelecom, majority owned by Greek OTE, posted a loss of EUR 310 million last year, higher than the roughly EUR 263 million losses the year before.
