Somali pirates Friday night seized Panama-flagged tanker MV Polar, which has 24 sailors aboard, of whom one is Romanian, European Union naval force Atalanta said Saturday. The Liberian-owned MV Polar was attacked by Somali pirates almost 1,100 kilometers East from Socotra island in the Indian Ocean, said Atalanta. MV Polar crew is made up of one Romanian, three Greeks, four Montenegrin sailors and 16 Filipino sailors.
