Romanian high school students to take part in international science competition in Istanbul
Two Romanian high schools have been chosen to take part in an international science research competition, to be held in Turkey. The MEF Educational Institutions’ 22nd International Research Projects Competition is running between May 7 and May 10 in Istanbul and this year features students from some 25 countries with a host of different science projects. The Sf. Sava National College Bucharest and the Jean Monnet college will represent Romania in the competition, which gives scientists of the future from different countries a chance to meet and share ideas, as well as test their prowess in competition.
The competition judges projects in different scientific disciplines separately and includes sections for physics, chemistry and biology. Teams from schools in Bulgaria, Hungary, China, Canada, Italy, Spain and Russia, among others, will be taking part, as well as the teams from Romania and host nation Turkey.
The event is organized by MEF Schools, Turkey. MEF Schools was founded in 1996 and currently runs nursery, primary and high schools with a combined area of 36,000 sqm. The high school students can take the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations.
