Damen Galati shipyard pays EUR 4.2 mln dividends to Dutch owner

The Damen Galati shipyard, controlled by Dutch company Damen Group, has transferred about EUR 4.2 million worth of dividends to its Dutch owner.

The Dutch group has a stake of 99% in the local shipyard whereas the rest is owned by two individuals.

The company posted a gross profit of EUR 6.3 million in the 2015 financial year. Its turnover was EUR 105.7 million.

For the 12.8 million shares owned in the Galati shipyard, the Dutch company received a gross dividend of RON 1.46 per title, reports local Profit.ro.

The state sold the Galati shipyard to Damen Shipyard Group in 1999. It is the largest shipyard owned by the Dutch group, out of its 35 shipyards owned internationally.
