Romanian shoemaker Clujana plans to export to Russian market

Romanian shoemaker Clujana is currently negotiating to export products on the Russian market, after entering the France, Italy and Germany market last year. Clujana has started exporting products under its own brand. The company used to be present on the Russian market during the communist period.

The Clujana factory is majority owned by the Cluj County council. It employs 400 people and runs stores in Cluj- Napoca, Bucharest and Targu Mures. The Clujana shoes were one of the best known Romanian brands during the communist regime. The factory was founded in 1911 and was initially named Fratii Renner & Co, then the Dermata factories, followed by the Janos Herback Shoe Factory.
