Romanian song of the week: Foul Play by Kumm
For this week we chose a Romanian alternative-indie song with a playful rhythm, just perfect for a little summer adventure under the burning sun, for as soon as the sun decides to come out again. The song, performed entirely in English by Romanian band Kumm, is called “Foul Play” and it’s the first single from their sixth studio album, which currently has no name and no release date.
Kumm is a Romanian alternative rock band. The band is composed of Catalin Mocan (lead vocals, guitar), Eugen Nutescu (guitar, vocals), Iordache (saxophones), Kovacs Andras (piano, rhodes piano, synthesisers), Utu Pascu (bass) and John Ciurea (drums). Since 1998, when the band was founded, Kumm released five albums: “Moonsweat” (2000),” Confuzz” (2002), “Angels and Clowns” (2005), “Different Parties” (2006) and “Far From Telescopes” (2009). The name of the band is translated as “sand” in Tatar language. More about Kumm on their MySpace profile.
