Romanian song of the week: 'Mi-e sete de tine' by Alb Negru feat Ralfo & Rares
This laid back song appeared almost unnoticed sometime this summer and somehow became a summer hit in Romania. A simple and repetitive beat, 'Mi-e sete de tine', by Alb Negru feat. Ralflo & Rares is quite catchy. Lyrics in Romanian are simple, sometimes romantic- 'I'm thirsty for you', but sometimes quite blunt: 'Love doesn't feed you/Good or bad, you are mine/Good or bad, I am yours'.
The band Alb Negru includes Kamara, a young journalist born in French Guinea, and 29-year old Romanian Andrei. The band launched in 2004 and have made several albums so far. The latest song, a collaboration with Ralfo – a young singer and composer who launched in Romania in 2011 after working in Paris and in New York – and Rares, who together create Free Dejays.
