Romanian song of the week: “Yushunago” performed by Cuantune
This week Romania Insider presents a beautiful new song, performed by Romanian band Cuantune. The song is called “Yushunago” and it’s a mixture of nu jazz and hip-hop, an unique sound on the Romanian musical scene. The title of the song is short for “You should not go”.
Cuantune consists of founding members Elizabeth (vocals), Cruxfader (Vocals, Producer, Dj and Sound engineer) and Toma Dimitriu (piano/keyboards), Michael Acker (bass guitar, contrabass), Andreas Aron (contrabass) and Matt Smith (drums).
Elizabeth is one of the best Romanian jazz singers of the new generation while Cruxfader is a self-taught musician, experimenting with rhythms and sounds through various featuring with artists from the hip-hop and soul underground scene.
“Yushunago” is the third single from their future untitled album. The first two singles were “Look over your shoulder” and “Stand up on your feet (We're having a party)” which you can listen on their official web page.
