Romanian state secretary for agriculture Irimescu to return to his EU job in Brussels
State secretary at the Agriculture ministry Achim Irimescu will leave his position in the Romanian Government for a job at Romania's Permanent Office at the European Union.
He will thus return to the position he had held until may 2012, when he became a state secretary in Romania. Irimescu, 56, will go back to Brussels in February 2014, according to Hotnews.ro.
He worked for Romania’s Permanent Representative office at the EU between 1998 and 2012, as a minister – counsellor, chief of section on agriculture and Romania's representative at the Special Agricultural committee. Between 1990 and 1998, he had been a chief of service and counsellor at Romania's Agriculture Ministry back home.
Irimescu holds a PhD in agrarian economy from he Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, and a bachelor degree from the Polytechnics University.
